2006 Corsair 28r “Trojan”
Vessel in excellent condition with all systems totally overhauled or replaced in 2018.
As with all Corsair Marine vessels, the level of construction and finish is typical of a high-quality factory production vessel. It was imported from the USA Corsair factory in 2006 (last built there).
The vessel is kept on its trailer with floats folded inwards, mast up, with full canvas (Sunbrella) cover over it.
Currently at the Marina hardstand at the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club (WMYC) at Manly, Brisbane. It Is possible to keep the vessel on the hardstand at this yacht club should you wish.
All running and standing rigging replaced – Diamond rigging replaced 2016, shrouds and forestay replaced 2019, all 4 halyards and all sheets etc replaced 2019.
All Tramps (main side nets and fore wingnets) replaced 2016 – Corsair supplied factory originals made in the USA.
Mainsail rig uses lazy jacks, but as mentioned could be converted back to boom roller reefing/storage as per the racing Corsair sail plan.
Sails are hardy race spec and new from UK Sails. This includes Main and Screecher. The fully battened Jib is also relatively new. Carbon jib is hoisted in the Furlex track. It is furled and has UV protection strip on Luff.
Main furls as Corsair specifications on rotating boom. However, the Main is currently set up to flake into a boom bag with lazy jack lines as per conventional reefing and sail storage. Could be reverted in 5 minutes to reef onto rotating boom if required.
Spinnaker has a deck bag, with attachments to hold to foredeck, and furling sock. All components are in excellent condition.
Roller bearing headsail cars on adjustable sheet tracks. This is a substantial expensive upgrade to the standard fitting.
Rope/sheet bags (x3) installed in cockpit.
Screecher kit with Harken Furler. Note – new UK Sails Screecher and sheets with soft shackle.
Vessel is set up for racing with adjustable backstays, foot straps on net/trampolines etc. Note – we have never raced vessel.
Carbon Mast (factory painted white) – as this vessel is the ‘R’ (i.e. Racing) model it has the extra-tall mast.
Dagger board system overhauled and both uphaul and downhaul lines replaced 2019.
Wind direction indicator SS on top of mast (new September 2020).

Anchor – 10Kg Rocna (new 2018) with 27m of chain and total 70m of warp in dedicated anchor locker at bow of vessel. When deployed the warp hangs on a SS roller (new 2018) and has a Bridle system to keep anchor warp away from Prodder striker and assists with vessel lying to the wind. Anchor can be kept in locker or hang over the bow roller. We have always kept anchor in locker out of the way.
Spare anchor is 12Kg Danforth with about 15m of heavy chain and long rope warp (stored in float).
Timber varnished tiller and small extension (beautiful).
Tiller extension (short varnished timber (as mentioned above) and 3m Ronstan battle stick). Vessel can be helmed from either float with use of long extension.
Lowrance Hook7 Chartplotter (2018) & excellent large bulkhead compass (note – always covered). Lowrance Chartplotter has a depth and speed transducer.
Raymarine Tiller pilot ST1000 (2018).
Fenders with cloth covers (x3).
Extensive inventory of rope, sheets, shock cord and associated fittings. All sails have custom made sail bags and these can all be kept, with sails inside, in one of the floats in waterproof compartment.
Custom made all-weather tent for main hatch cover. This means that main hatch over galley can be left open at all times as this tent/containment is totally wind and waterproof.
Boom tent (Sunbrella fabric).
Removable swivelling varnished timber table.
Cabin is as standard Corsair factory fitout and is in excellent condition. Includes SS sink with new SS water pump/ Tap, Swedish SS 2 burner (Methylated spirits) cook top, huge food storage spaces in galley, trays, complete with all cooking utensils and plates, cutlery etc, sleeping accommodation for 4 persons, WP carpet on cabin sole, lightly used 2019 portable toilet in its dedicated position (plastic protection still on lid).
Full vessel cover (Sunbrella fabric) – can be used with floats inboard or outboard.
Full current safety equipment includes Auto SOS Danbuoy (i.e. auto inflating man overboard throw device), new fire extinguisher (x2), new EBIRB, 5 self-inflatable life jackets (all current and tested). The other usual mandatory safety equipment (‘for beyond partially smooth waters’) is all current.
Dunbier Trailer (December 2016) – excellent condition as always washed every time it comes out of saltwater including fresh water flushed through all channels and cross beams. Brakes recently overhauled, by Special Trailers at Brendale, and SS hydraulic lines recently installed (September 2020).
Steel galvanised guide uprights from back of trailer to assist in launching and retrieval of vessel. Particularly helpful in times of strong cross winds.
